I Remember

I Remember takes as its starting point a scene from Amarcord, the 1973 Italian comedy directed by Federico Fellini. In 1930s Italy, a man is taking refuge in a treetop shouting “I want a woman!”. 80 years later, in London, a woman responds. I Remember was filmed as a performance intervention in collaboration with Israeli artist Alit Kreiz. As Kreiz negotiates the artificiality of her presence in a series of documentary scenes, her body competes with the self-conscious construction of the cinematic frame and architectural surroundings.
